Hello dear friend, welcome!
I’m Madeleine and I’m on a mission to help and support other fawns out there like me. I have been on a path of self-discovery and would like to invite you to come along too. Habitually putting the needs of others before your own and feeling guilt and anxiety when you put yourself first, try to lay down a boundary or even deny your own feelings and needs, can be extremely debilitating. I want to empower others to connect and be their authentic selves and in turn have more satisfying and healthy relationships. Fawning behavior stems from childhood trauma, if we can pause, take a breath, honor ourselves and who we truly are, we can take a step forward in beginning our healing journey.
Over the past 15+ years I have worked as a counsellor and psychologist. I specialise in childhood trauma. When I first learnt about ‘fawning’ as part of the survival response a light went on in my head. I realized I was a complete fawn. Growing up in an obscure religious cult I learnt how to be super subservient. For a lot of my life, I have been oblivious to this response that was literally programmed into me and has been spurred on by fear. I have always been quiet and shy, too scared to speak up and share any of my personal opinions, keeping my true self hidden for fear of abandonment and rejection. So here I go throwing myself into the deep end and living a fiercer life. I want to help others find the courage to gain a strong sense of who they are and step into their power. Come join me kick some people pleasing self-sabotaging butt and find the ability for mad self-love.
