Who is Dr Madeleine Amie

Madeleine is a psychologist with 15+ years of experience in the field of mental health and wellbeing. She specialises in childhood trauma and has had the honour of working with many children, adults and families in this area in both New Zealand and Australia.
The fawn survival response is an umbrella term for people that have had to forfeit their own sense of self, wants and needs to have safety in relationships. In learning about the fawn response Madeleine was able to make sense of her own childhood experiences of growing up in a religious cult and overcome an automatic survival response that had held her back for so long. Having the knowledge and finding the tools to be able to work through her fawn response was incredibly liberating. In wanting to help support other fawns in their healing journey, Madeleine launched The Fierce Fawn. Her objective is to help empower those who ‘give too much’ so they may have more satisfying relationships, set healthy boundaries, and have the freedom to be their authentic selves.
Customer Testimonials
“I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Madeleine to create her online course of videos. I was really impressed by the way she could articulate complex human mental processes in an easy and simple way. I certainly learnt more about myself and in fact now understand more of why I do what I do. I have already recommended her to several friends as the fawning aspect of our lives is not something most people are aware of. Listening to the content and going through the worksheets really did make me understand the reasons for my reactions and behaviour. If anyone has the chance to get help, advice or use the course I highly recommend it. Madeleine’s knowledge is very insightful and concise and I think anyone lucky enough to hear her thoughts would find benefits in their life in a positive and applicable way.” Andrew
“I have just completed the Fierce Fawn online course and I would just like to say how grateful I am that Madeleine was able to create and present her course in a way that really resonated with me. I have often found myself doing things for others to please them as if my feelings and needs didn’t matter. It wasn’t until I looked into the fawning response, that it all started to make sense and so I did the full course of videos, worksheets and listened to Madeleine’s calming way of relating the concept and its processes. I then found a better understanding of myself at a much deeper level and have been making positive changes in my life.” Jen
“The course totally opened up my world, giving me an understanding of why I felt so powerless in situations. Once I understood that, the course gave me all the tools needed to empower myself to be a stronger person and able to assess my world in a more balanced way so that my needs were being met. Thank you so much for helping me find myself and enable me to realise that I am important and amazing without needing the approval of others to define me. ” Karla
